Operation Democracy, our national network of neighborhood teams, is making a difference on the critical national issues we all care about: from building pressure to end House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's abuse of power to opposing Bush's risky Social Security privatization scam.
Through our work on these issues, we're also building toward real victory in the 2006 elections. Now it's time for the next step. Our partner, Grassroots Campaigns, is hiring organizers to work with MoveOn members in swing districts across the country. Organizers will help expand Operation Democracy and win critical elections.
Grassroots Campaigns, Inc. (GCI) is an independent organization specializing in building grassroots support for progressive causes, groups and candidates. GCI worked with us last year on Leave No Voter Behind, our massive 2004 neighbor-to-neighbor get-out-the-vote drive. Each organizer will build grassroots support on critical national issues, put pressure on vulnerable Republicans and support progressive candidates. Responsibilities include recruiting and training volunteers, developing leaders, precinct-walking, coalition building and media outreach.
Grassroots Campaigns hired 10 organizers to start in July in our top priority districts. Over the next 9 months they'll be adding additional organizers in waves to work on building Operation Democracy and winning congressional races in districts across the country.

To meet our goals, organizers will need to work long hours to start and nearly around the clock in the final months before the election.
If you have the passion, stamina and aptitude for this kind of work, you're a potential candidate. Grassroots Campaigns will be hiring and training for both positions that require 3-4 years previous paid organizing experience and positions that don't require previous experience.
